Carly Williams

Founder and CEO

My name is Carly, I'm a mum and a bereaved mum. My first son Zephyr died just before he was born, and he changed my life. He made me the person I am today, made me a mother, and led to us creating "Zephyr's" charity; of which I am a Founder, alongside Zeph's wonderful Dad Martin. I also work for Zephyr's as Managing Director, overseeing the running of the charity, from the day to day services and support, to dreaming up what's coming next, and all things inbetween!

Before having children, Martin and I worked creatively and therapeutically in lots of community and educational places - learning alongside, being with, and supporting all sorts of people through vulnerable, emotional, or inspiring times.

When Zephyr died, everything changed, and through grief I feel so humbled to have found a place to support others; nurturing this flourishing charity, that's made up of lots of amazing volunteers, such loving families, and many who know love and loss in their lives; ah this is a team that I'm so proud to be part of!

Outside of all this, you might find me on a yoga mat, in the garden, out marvelling at sunsets (occasionally sunrises!) writing, knitting something woolly, or playing with Zeph's younger brother. And always somehow, trying to find new and present ways to parent my son who died - we're a family of four, even though most only see us as three.
