Forest Shirt up for grabs!

We’re very grateful that the Punjabi Forest group are raffling a signed Nottingham Forest shirt to raise money for, and in support of Zephyr’s.

Members of the group Michael, Swin, Bill and Victor recently visited Zephyr’s to share the wonderful shirt with us, and for us to let them know more about the work they are supporting with their fundraiser. Michael is also a Trustee for Zephyr’s.

Michael says “Personally, I have never encountered such a devastating loss as the death of a child. The thought of how a parent can cope with and make sense of such a tragedy is unimaginable. In our community, particularly among Punjabi elders, there is often a tendency to avoid discussing such matters, and instead encourage grieving parents to move on by suggesting they try to have another child or saying things like “all’s not lost.” However, for the grieving parent, it may feel like their entire world has been shattered, and they will need time to process and come to terms with their loss. That’s where Zephyrs comes in – we provide a safe and nurturing space where bereaved families can receive support, listen to and be there for them without any interference from other family members.”
